In order to make the news available worldwide, Al Jazeera has decided to make its content available for “other news sources to use through their Creative Commons website,” the company said. That means news outlets are free to use the organization’s reports and live footage, without getting permission, so long as the borrowers give credit.

Mørke internettskyer over Egypt.

At lederne i totalitære og autoritære regimer både stenger og overvåker Internettet, er noe vi har vist lenge, og også skrevet om før her på NRKbeta.

Den siste tids utvikling i den muslimske verden har på nytt satt søkelys på den makten som faktisk ligger i hendene på den som kontrollerer aksessen til Internett og telefonnettet. Både under opptøyene i Tunisia og i Egypt hagler rapportene inn om at sosiale medier brukes aktivt i kampen for å organisere seg mot regimene. Spesielt Facebook og Twitter er trukket fram som viktige verktøy for å organisere demonstrasjonene.

Kodak Faces Patent Defeat at ITC to Apple and RIM | IPWatchdog.com | Patents & Patent Law.

On January 14, 2010, Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) brought an action at the International Trade Commission (ITC) challenging the importation of certain RIM Blackberry phones and Apple iPhones.   Kodak alleged that the importation of the phones violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930.  The predicate for the the alleged Section 337 violation was the infringement of claims 15, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 of United States Patent No. 6,292,218. Yesterday, January 24, 2011, Kodak announced that it has received notice that the Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) in the ITC action brought by Kodak against Apple Inc. and Research In Motion Limited had issued an initial determination recommending that the patent claims at issue are invalid and not infringed.
